Join The Renaissance is where serious professionals get seriously creative.
It’s run by me, Kate Yesberg, a Pākehā New Zealander with ancestral roots in the UK, Germany and Sweden.
I started life as a corporate lawyer and spent 16 years working in litigation, international law, and regulatory reform — and in leadership roles in the public and non-profit sectors.
I have degrees in Anthropology and Law (First Class Hons), and a Masters in Law (with distinction) from New York University, where I studied as a Fulbright Scholar.
And through all of that I felt wholly uncreative, until I picked up a paintbrush aged 30.
Not only did I start making art, but reconnecting with my creativity quickly became the best CPD I was doing in my law practice.
I could feel my brain changing…
And ever since, I’ve been fascinated with how our creative minds work
And how we can reeducate ourselves back into creativity.
Join The Renaissance is built on a core belief that we are all creative — and creating all the time, no matter our age, stage or industry.
Creativity is simply the act of bringing things into being.
And while I love making art — Join The Renaissance is not about making art.
It’s about helping you reconnect to your creative agency and the power you have to shape the world around you.
Whatever you want to bring into being, I’m here to help.
As an artist
I’m an abstract painter represented by {Suite} Gallery and exhibit regularly around Aotearoa. You can also find me on stage and in your ears as part of the pop-punk band Love Party.
